I was exited after reading what's being new in iOS 7. The features added sounded overdue and very useful! So I happily downloaded and installed the new version. Complete feature overview from Apple.
What I had oveelooked: The design changes.
I was quite suprised. And very very disappointed.
Design
- Fonts are far too thin (Yes you can make them bold in settings > accessibility)
- It seems optimized for iPhone 5 (larger display) which makes my iPhone 4 looking a bit disoranised and unclear (eg. Less emails on one screen).
- Menus are looking plain and far too bright (everywhere bright and no option to change that).
- Where the hell are the nice icons? This was a thing I especially loved about Apple: beautiful detailed and lovely design without compromising functionality. The new buttons (eg. Photos, settings, etc.) look plain, boring and vacuous.
- The calendar week view only shows 3 days at a time and the lower part with hours is due to the large heading very small. At least there could be five days! Navigating between year, month and day view was not obvious to find.
Features
- The new bar pulled up from the button: USEFUL. I am also very happy about a torch ;-)
- Camera design is improved.
- E-mails: access drafts more quickly by holding new email button. Swipe to delete or MORE, that is useful!

Hopefully the new design trend will be ebbing away and Apple goes back to beautiful (and not plain) functional design. Please Apple, please.
