Excel 2013: Formula bar --> How to select all text inside formula bar? Ctrl+A is not working.

I have a lot of text to bring from Cell A to Cell B. I do not want to click onto the cell itself. I want to select the text only. Therefore I click into the the text editing mode (F2) or into the formula bar.

However, normally I click now Ctrl+A to select all text. But it is not working! I just get a "bing".

According to Microsoft "The ‘Ctrl+A’ shortcut key will not work to select all text in the Excel Formula bar."

A solution is to click into the formular bar and press 

ctrl+shift+end

However, I still need to get my hand off the mouse and the workflow is interrupted. I thonk its a pitty that these simple shortcuts are not working!
